In blogging they're called "rabbit holes"—it's when you mention a subject, and then it's assumed that you're covering it, and then there are further developments, which you then feel obliged to report. And before you know it everyone thinks you're obsessed with whatever it is, because you keep talking about it, when actually it wasn't that big a deal to start with and you're not sure you actually care all that much.
It usually happens here with books. Or sometimes legal issues. Although following certain subjects to see where they lead can also be fun.
Anyway, Rabbit Hole Dept.: B&H Photo has decided that the Nikon Coolpix A (black or silver) should go back to its Cyber Monday closeout price, and has now restored the $499 pricetag (it had gone back to its previous price of $1,099 at 12:01 Tuesday morning).
And if you want the OVF (black or silver), they will helpfully knock $300 off the price of that when you add both the camera and the OVF to your cart. Or click on the "Savings Available" link on the camera page.
By the way, in case you're curious, it was a very great Cyber Monday on TOP, a banner Cyber Monday, for which many thanks.
This will hopefully be the last mention here of the Coolpix A, as I climb back out of its rabbit hole.
Mike
